Packard_CPPS_5_A.jpg
Packard_CPPS_5_A.jpgPackard 1928-30 Wire Wheel81 viewsDESCRIPTION: Chrome plated pressed steel threaded hub cap for a Packard automobile. My notes show this cap as being used on wire wheels from 1928 – 1930 and it can also be found made of aluminum. I believe the cap was threaded over the hub and used as the center cap for a larger hub cap. It has a round center instead of the hex trademark and has no visible means to tighten or loosen it.
SIZE: The cap has an outside diameter of just under 2 15/16” on the thread flange and 2 7/8” at the top. It is 2 1/16” high with 2 13/16”- 16 threads.
